Sir Rod Stewart has wished his fellow Scots a happy Burns Night in a hilarious video on social media. The Maggie May crooner is stood behind a bar beside his son, Liam, in the clip on Instagram.
Celtic-daft Rod is wearing in a red tartan blazer and white shirt, with a Glengarry on his head, as he holds a drink in his right hand. Liam is a green-coloured tartan scarf and hat on his head.
In the clip, shared with his 1.2m followers, Rod says: "Hello everybody, Happy Burns Night. This is Rod Stewart and his son Liam. And we used to celebrate Burns Night with my dad, your grandfather. And I want you to have a great night. This is your favourite Cockney, Scotsman wishing you a happy Burns Night. Cheers mate."
Moments later the lights above Rod and Liam start to flicker, before the 78-year-old joked about having not paid the electricity bill. Plunged into darkness, he said: "What's happened. We didn't pay the electricity bill. All the lights have gone off."
Many of his fans have been quick to respond, with one saying: "Glad to see the lights went off saving electricity."
Another added: "Happy burns night Rod" A third said: "Happy Burns night to you and your family and all the Scottish people around the country and world" A fourth penned: "Brilliant. Enjoy"

a happy birthday in this goofy video posted to Instagram—because he doesn’t actually use the words happy birthday. He did write in the caption, “Celebrate it Marsha,” which is really more of a command than a wish. In the video, which was filmed from two inches away from his eyeballs, Meloni stage-whispers, “Marsha! Are you there?” (True fans know that “Marsha” is Meloni’s nickname for Hargitay, and one half of why the duo’s shippers call themselves “Marshmelons.”) Meloni continues, zooming in on a single eyeball, “Do you know what today is? I do.” The actor pauses and starts to say, “Happy…” and then the video cuts off. My favorite thing about this clip is how oddball it is.
