Riley Keough on ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ season two: “I don’t know if it’s in the cards”

Now Peggy Rose, who was speaking to OK! at the launch of 2023 Apprentice winner Marnie Swindell's newly-refurbished Bronx Boxing gym in London, has opened up exclusively about her future - including her determination to become a mum - whatever it takes to get there.

The series is based on the true story of the murder of Reena Virk (played by Vritika Gupta), a 14 year old girl who was killed by a group of fellow teenagers – her supposed friends – in 1997 British Columbia. Keough plays Rebecca Godfrey (who wrote the book that the show is based on), Gladstone plays local cop Cam Bentland, and Panjabi plays Suman Virk, Reena’s mother.

Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon) and Bowen Yang (SNL) have been tapped to star in a reimagining of Ang Lee’s classic romance The Wedding Banquet from filmmaker Andrew Ahn (Fire Island), Deadline can confirm.

Despite fans hoping — and demanding — a second season of the Prime Video miniseries adaptation of Tara Jenkin Reid’s best-selling novel, Keough tells me, “I would love to but I don’t know if it’s in the cards…I haven’t heard anything.” The series followed Daisy Jones (Keough) and her bandmates (Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse and Sebastian Chacon) as they make their way through the Los Angeles music scene of the 1970s. The series premiered just over a year ago to positive reviews.

They decided to flesh that out in unique dialogue-free comedic imagining of the creatures’ daily life – eating, fighting, etc. Stars Jesse Eisenberg, Riley Keough, Christophe Zajac-Denek and Nathan Zellner are unrecognizable as the hairy tribe of four that entranced Sundance (see Deadline review). Bleecker Street is opening the film, written by David Zellner, executive produced by Ari Aster, in 9 theaters in New York, LA, San Francisco and Austin, ahead of a big jump to about 800 screens next week.

In the hot package being shopped around town, Emmy, Critics’ Choice and Golden Globe Award winner Paul Walter Hauser is attached to star as the legendary comedian. There’s no word yet on where the project will land, but it’s sure to attract a slew of bidders.
