20 Years After Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken Faced Off on ‘American Idol,’ the Two Reunite for ‘Nostalgia’ Tour, Season 21 Finale

Fred Bronson On May 21, 2003, 38.1 million viewers watched Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken battle it out to become the winner of season two of “American Idol.” When Ryan Seacrest opened the envelope, he proclaimed, “After 24 million votes, the winner of ‘American Idol’ 2003 is… Ruben Studdard!” Aiken was not surprised — he saw the name on the card before Seacrest read it out loud. Studdard and Aiken went on to have successful careers, starting with their debut albums, which both topped the Billboard album chart. Twenty years to the day of the season two finale, Studdard and Aiken will return to the “Idol” stage for the season 21 finale to perform one of the songs they are singing every night on stage for their 20th anniversary tour. ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Richard Madden Recalls ‘A Lot of Crying’ While Filming the Red Wedding Ahead of Episode’s 10th Anniversary

Marc Malkin Senior Film Awards, Events & Lifestyle Editor Can you believe that June 2 will mark the 10-year anniversary of the Red Wedding scene in “Game of Thrones”? Richard Madden, whose character Robb Stark met a grisly end in the episode, recalls filming the bloody massacre. “I remember a lot of crying because at the end of it, I was going to be apart from my family that I had lived with for five years — my on-screen mother and my wife and this crew that had spent a lot of time together, so it was traumatic not only to shoot but traumatic because I was losing my family,” the actor told me at the premiere of his Amazon Prime Video series “Citadel.” The Red Wedding included the slaughter of several major and minor characters on the show, including Robb, his mother Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley), his bride Talisa Stark (Oona Chaplin) and their unborn child.
