Prue Leith addresses Bake Off quit rumours during appearance on This Morning

Prue Leith has addressed speculation she's quit the Great British Bake Off.
The cooking expert appeared on This Morning on Thursday, 14 March to promote her new cookery series. Prue, 84, sat down to chat to Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on This Morning, with the pair quizzing her about the 10-part TV series - titled Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen - which she stars in with her husband John Playfair. Unsurprisingly, talk soon turned to The Great British Bake Off.
Prue hit the headlines earlier in the week after it was claimed she was going to be stepping down from her role as a judge on the Channel 4 show. However, it was revealed she will only be exiting the celebrity edition of GBBO and will remain on the main show. As Ben and Cat quizzed her about the rumours, Prue was quick to shut them down and clarified what will be happening on GBBO going forward.
She stated: "I'm still doing The Great American Baking Show. I'm still going The Great British Bake Off - the two main shows of Bake Off. What I'm not doing this year is the celebrity one." Prue went on to explain exactly why she'd made the decision to step down from the celebrity edition of Bake Off.
She continued: "It's mainly because these things are filmed back to back.
The whole way through the summer, so you start in April and you end at the end of August. Honestly, you get no time off. And, I'm getting a bit old and there's places I want to go." The star - who is a judge on the baking show alongside Paul Hollywood - has already filmed the upcoming series of Bake Off, which will air later this year.
