The world is still reeling from Princess Catherine‘s “planned abdominal surgery” last week. And no, “reeling” is not too strong of a word to use in this context.
We know that now because according to a new report out on Wednesday, almost NOBODY in Kate Middleton‘s life knew she was going in for surgery. Beyond her husband Prince William and her closest family members, pretty much everybody in her life — even her very close pals — was left totally in the dark! Damn!!

On Wednesday morning, People published a report citing insiders who claimed that “most of those [people] around” Princess Catherine had no idea she was going to be hospitalized for surgery last week. As you’ll recall, the 42-year-old Princess of Wales was hospitalized at The London Clinic last Tuesday, and had what Kensington Palace later referred to as “planned abdominal surgery.” By all accounts, the surgery went well, and she began her recovery in earnest.
But just a few weeks before, during Christmas and New Year’s public appearances and outings, nobody had any clue that anything was the matter. Per People, the surgery situation came as a surprise even to close confidantes, friends, and those who work very closely with the royal family. For Christmas and then after, the family enjoyed time together with relatives and pals that included outings at their country home Anmer Hall, as well as jaunts around the Norfolk countryside.
