Prince Harry recalled the moment he was 'roaring' with laughter at one of the presents he received from Meghan Markle which gave a touching nod to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
Harry and Meghan had spent their first Christmas in the US after stepping down as working royals in 2020, as Harry detailed their stateside holiday season in his memoir Spare where he reflected on the thoughtful gift.
Harry explained how the Duchess of Sussex noticed a Christmas tree ornament with a picture of the Queen on it in a local shop and “thought he would like it” as he admitted the present was wonderful and 'roared' with laughter after unwrapping the gift.
The Duke placed the ornament on the Christmas tree at their son Archie's eye level so he could see his great-grandmother, however the decision meant it didn't last long as the curious toddler swiped it off the tree reports the Mirror.
It sadly soon smashed to pieces and ended up in the bin, as Harry explained: “I grabbed a dustpan and swept up the pieces, all the while thinking: This is weird.”
The couple shared a stunning family photo as they celebrated Christmas in the US, posing in their garden as they stood outside a Wendy house. Their two dogs were also in the snap, along with a small tree decorated with a huge red bowl.
