Prince Harry reportedly 'didn't want to be in the same room' as his stepmother, Queen Camilla, when he came back to the UK to see his father, King Charles, who is battling an unspecified cancer.
The 39 year old Duke of Sussex flew for 11 hours from his home in Montecito, California, on Tuesday, 6 February, to support his father after hearing about his illness from the King himself. Harry spent just 25 hours in the UK, meeting his father for just 30 minutes, before flying back to the US, but it's said that he avoided being in the same room as his stepmother, Camilla.
Journalist Petronella Wyatt, who is friends with Camilla, claims that when Harry and Camilla met again, it was not warm. Petronella shared in the Telegraph: "Harry, I hear, preferred not to be in the same room with his stepmother when he spoke to the King about his cancer diagnosis." OK! has contacted Harry's representatives for comment.
In his his bombshell memoir, Spare, in which he levelled many accusations at the Royal Family, Harry called Camilla "dangerous" and a "villain". He also said she "sacrificed him" to make herself look better.
Harry wrote: "I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar.'" Harry also claimed that he had pleaded with his dad to not marry the then-Camilla Parker Bowles, even nicknaming her the "wicked stepmother". The comments have only deepened the feud between Harry and his family, leaving a reconciliation in the near future seeming unikely.
