The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived at the fourth day of the Invictus Games, currently being held in Dusseldorf. Prince Harry set up The Invictus Games, an international multi-sport event for wounded servicemen and women, in 2014, as a project incredibly close to his heart following his own time in the army.
The Prince arrived ahead of the games start, with his wife Meghan Markle arriving on Tuesday evening, and immediately getting to work as she gave a speech to the 1,600 attendees, including competitors, friends and family. On the fourth day of the games, the Sussexes were snapped hand-in-hand as they headed to a Wheelchair Basketball preliminary match between Ukraine and Australia.
For the occasion, Harry opted for a casual outfit as he donned a dark Invictus Games branded polo shirt, which teamed with a pair of dark jeans and some black-and-white shoes. While Meghan sported a stylish ensemble of cream shorts, a black top and a white cardigan with black lining. She accessorised with a black belt and gold bracelet, completing the look with some black and beige ballet flats.
The couple's appearance comes just two days before Prince Harry's 39th birthday, with King Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold suggesting that the royal may receive a birthday message from his father, despite their recent estrangement.
Asked if Harry will be hearing from either his father or his brother Prince William on his birthday, Grant said: "Possibly. If they chat on WhatsApp, he might get a text, or he might get an email. I hope they do reach out.
"I’d like to think William would pick up the phone to wish him a happy birthday. But you never know. We will probably never know.
