Metrolink passengers have been facing disruption on tramlines across Manchester ahead of rush hour. Passengers have reported being 'stuck' on services this afternoon (February 13), with multiple routes affected.
Some tram services in the city centre are not boarding at all of their usual stops. Metrolink bosses confirmed changes affecting the Altrincham line.
But delays have also affected some services on the Ashton, Bury and Eccles lines. One passenger posted on X: "@BeeNetwork what's going on with the tram service. I have been stood up for nearly 20 mins stuck in one position near the Man City stadium under a bridge.

"On my way to Ashton. Its simple (sic) not good enough." Another wrote: "Some easing of the congestion been stuck between Etihad campus and Velopark for over 20 mins while a load of trams turn around, why not just send half of them on as not in service and then turn at the end of the line."
A third added: "Any clue what’s happen to the Rochdale / shaw trms (sic). First no shows. Now it’s stuck in Victoria. And the driver has abandoned the cabin."
Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed there was 'congestion' affecting services in the city. A post from the Bee Network on X said: "To ease the congestion of services, no Altrincham services are operating from Piccadilly.
"Passengers should board services towards St Peter's Square for Altrincham and Ashton/Etihad connections. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
The Manchester Evening News understands the issue was caused by an issue involving a failed tram, which has since been resolved. It's hoped services will soon be back to normal.
