Outlander star Sam Heughan shares how he spends a day in Glasgow as he speaks of love for city

Sam Heughan is best known for his role as Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in the hit show Outlander, but when he's not donning a kilt for filming, he enjoys nothing better than roaming round Scotland's biggest city.
The 43-year-old actor spoke to The New York Times all about his life living in Glasgow and even shared his favourite spots where he tends to spend his down time.
Keen runner Sam can often be seen pounding the city's pavements and occasionally rewards himself with a pint afterwards for his hard efforts.
He told the publication: "I love walking and running along the River Clyde to Glasgow Green with a possible stop at the microbrewery Drygate for a beer."

According to the Jamie Fraser star, The Ben Nevis Bar in super hip Finnieston is a 'Glasgow institution' which he has been going to for years. He added: “I went there as a student and I go there now. People speak Gaelic, and there is live traditional Scottish music, sometimes planned, sometimes impromptu. It’s a special place.”
Sam's favourite park in Glasgow is the iconic Kelvingrove in the city's west end.
He added: "You can have a picnic, walk under the bridges and visit both Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, as well as the University of Glasgow, which is just up the hill."
Sam went on to admit that he enjoys a tipple at Inn Deep, a popular bar which sits just underneath Kelvingrove Bridge.
Sam loves the stylish Dakota Hotel but not for an overnight stay. The Scots actor says that the restaurant at the city centre venue does a fabulous steak and he really rates their cocktail menu.
