The Balmaclellan-born actor, 43, is best known for his role as Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in Outlander alongside his on-screen wife Claire played by Caitriona Balfe. In a new interview with First We Feast, Sam takes viewers through a selection of his favourite snacks with some Scots favourites thrown in for good measure.

Sam continues pouring himself a dram of his Sassenach whisky, before the video cuts to him opening a bottle of Irn-Bru with a big cheer. However, the bottle sprays everywhere as he mutters: “Oh Jesus Christ.”
He added: “Once, when they tried to change the recipe in Scotland and reduce the sugar, there was a national outcry because we like our sugar in Scotland.”
