New pictures have revealed the ongoing development of the huge construction being built in the Northern Quarter ahead of the Chanel fashion show.
Thomas Street will remain closed for the next month while huge metal structures are being erected, set to form a canopy for the catwalk extravaganza hosted by the international fashion brand.
Chanel previously announced it would hold its exclusive Métiers d'Art show in Manchester city centre for the first time ever this December - but the location and details of the show have not yet been disclosed.

Chanel has not yet publicly commented about the location, but the huge works now taking place in the Northern Quarter have caught some attention, with local businesses reportedly signing non-disclosure agreements.
New pictures have now shown how work is continuing on the huge construction, with towering metal frames being built along the section of Thomas Street, between Tib Street and High Street. They are currently being covered by transparent roof sheets to keep it waterproof.
The road was closed off last week as the metal structure was erected, with a number of workmen and council officials at the site. It has now been reopened to pedestrians.
The Chanel show is expected to draw A-list stars from across the world to join the front row on Thursday, December 7. As well as Thomas Street, the shell of the old Smithfield Market on Edge Street is set to be used for the fashion event too, according to workers on the site.
