Workers will be subject to new laws from April that will affect their wages and rights to certain types of leave.
Workers with children will also have some childcare perks extended to them as part of a major shake-up announced by the government last year.

We've broken down all the major employment laws either being introduced or changed in the first week of April.
National Insurance will be cut from 10 per cent to eight per cent on April 6. The chancellor said the move will be worth about £450 a year to an employee earning an average salary of £35,000.
Meanwhile, self-employed National Insurance is being cut from eight per cent to six per cent.

Combined with the reductions to National Insurance he announced last autumn, which came into force in January, the chancellor said the measure would mean 27 million employees would get an average tax cut of £900 a year, while two million self-employed would have an average £650 cut.
