Mr Bates vs The Post Office's Toby Jones' life off screen with Emmerdale dad and famous mum

The familiar face of Toby Jones has returned to our screens for the new ITV drama Mr Bates vs Post Office, but what fans might not know is that he also has star-studded parents.
Toby, 57, who holds an OBE, is best known for being the voice of Dobby in the Harry Potter films from 2002 to 2010. Other huge roles from the actor include Percy Alleline in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Claudius, the announcer for The Hunger Games.
In his latest venture, Toby stars as Alan Bates in ITV's Mr Bates vs Post Office which aired its first episode on New Year's Day.
The series tells the true story of Alan Bates and his fight for justice following the Post Office scandal in the late 90s. The cast, alongside Toby, includes Katherine Kelly, Amy Nuttall, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Monica Dolan, Lia Williams, Alex Jennings and Will Mellor.
There are four episodes in the series with all of them available to watch on ITVX now.
But away from TV fame, Toby is from a star-studded family as both his parents were actors. His late father Freddie Jones is known for his role as Sandy Thomas on the hit ITV soap Emmerdale.
Freddie played the role of Sandy from November 2005 before he departed in March 2008, only to return again in February 2009. After a long stint on the show, he said goodbye to the soap and aired his final scenes in February 2018.
Over a year later in July 2019, Freddie died at the age of 91.
Toby's mother Jennifer Jones was also an actress but gave up her career to raise her three sons, Toby, Rupert and Casper.
Toby hails from Hammersmith, London and studied drama at the University of Manchester from 1986 to 1989.
