After a year away from our screens, The Traitors is once again back with a bang as series two kicks off in style on Wednesday 3 January. The nail-biting show, which will see 22 contestants go head to head in the hopes of securing a cash prize of up to £120,000, will divide the competitors into two teams, the Traitors and the Faithfuls - before tasking the Traitors with eliminating their fellow contestants while keeping their identities a secret.
Among the stars taking part this year is 36 year old Business Manager, Paul Gorton from Manchester, who fans may also recognise from his previous appearances on Deal or No Deal back in 2010! Here, we take a closer look at Paul’s life away from The Traitors… Who is Paul Gorton? Paul Gorton is a Business Manager who works in Manchester and only discovered the excitement of The Traitors late in the game. For weeks, his family and friends had been urging him to watch the show, until at last he finally caved and binge watched the series, after admitting he got “addicted” to watching the mystery unfold.
“I got addicted! We were latecomers so everyone was already talking about how good The Traitors was and we got hooked straight away and started bingeing it, a couple of episodes every night type of thing,” explained Paul. “We’ve started to watch the US and Australian series too, but I also don’t want my thought process to be altered by stuff before I go in!” What can he bring to The Traitors? Analysing his game plan for what he hoped to bring to the show, Paul admitted he didn’t really have a definitive plan for how he would strategise during the competition.
