EXCLUSIVE: Uriah Shelton (The Glades, Girl Meets World) has been cast as a series regular in the Prime Video series Motorheads from writer/showrunner John A. Norris.
Shelton will portray Curtis, somewhat of an outsider and a skilled young mechanic who crafted his motorcycle from scratch. He strives to keep a distance from the world of his older brother, Ray.
As Deadline revealed in late November, the series also stars Ryan Phillippe, Nathalie Kelley, Michael Cimino and Melissa Collazo.
Motorheads is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your very first car. Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is the adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of automobiles. And while some characters will be navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school, others will be racing from a dark past.
Norris executive produces alongside Jason Seagraves, Jake Fuller on behalf of Jax Media, Dana Brunetti and Keegan Rosenberger. Ruben Fleischer is attached to direct the pilot and Ryan Zaragoza will serve as co-executive producer. Jax Media and Amazon MGM Studios produce the series.
Shelton most recently can be seen In Hulu’s adaptation of John Green’s Looking for Alaska as Longwell Chase, as well as the Universal Pictures film Freaky starring as Booker, alongside Kathryn Newton and Vince Vaughn. The Magnolia Springs, Alabama native was cast in his first major role as Jeff Cargill in the 2010 drama series, The Glades.
