Fans of Molly-Mae Hague were left confused when the star posted a photo of her beloved Ellie Belly and a teddy bear watching a film before she left the room on Sunday. Molly-Mae, 23, had shared a snap of the soft toys tucked in bed next to each other in front of her laptop on Instagram Stories, giving fans an insight into her home life. The influencer asked her 6.4 million followers in the caption: "Do you leave a film on for your teddies when you go out, or are you normal?" Ellie Belly became nearly as famous as Molly-Mae after she brought her along with her as she appeared in Love Island in 2019.
She was seen on the show cuddling her favourite soft toy often, receiving comfort from the cute companion whenever her boyfriend Tommy Fury, 23, wasn’t around. Three years on, it appears Molly-Mae is just as close with Ellie Belly as she was back then, as she gave a look at her home life to Instagram on Sunday.
Ellie Belly became so popular among viewers that they had previously campaigned for a Wikipedia page to be created in honour of the elephant and for the website to make her an official member of the 2019 cast. Fans were so adamant that they updated the official Love Island season five Wikipedia page themselves, marking the day Ellie Belly entered the villa along with Molly.
Though the update has since been deleted, followers have continued to consider the elephant to have a star status of its own. Molly-Mae's post comes after she responded to rumours that she had split from boyfriend of three years Tommy, which sparked after the couple appeared to take a break form posting each other on social media.
Molly addressed the false speculation as she wrote: “Omg guys Tommys just training in London. We haven't split up, my dms
