Preparing meals and snacks ahead of time is no doubt one of the most efficient things you can do when you're on a weight loss journey - especially if you have a busy schedule.
Having something in the fridge or freezer ready to go means you'll be less tempted by a takeaway or calorie-dense supermarket meal deal, both of which can also be very costly in the long run.
And this recipe for harissa meatballs, shared on Michael Mosley's Instagram and blog of his Fast 800 diet, ticks all the right boxes. Each serving is high in protein yet low in carbs, helping to keep you fuller for longer and reduce the urge for snacking.
The Fast 800 blog is a source of meal inspiration for many people on a weight loss journey, as it focuses on nutrient-dense dishes that tend to be lower in calories which is ideal for anybody who is currently in a deficit.
And these bite-size protein powerhouses are no different. Perfect for prepping ahead of time and then adding to salads, stews or pasta dishes, each serving of four harissa meatballs and a side of herby yoghurt dip contains just 107 calories and 10.1g of protein.
The post's caption explained: "Classic meatballs often contain breadcrumbs or flour to bind them, which increases the carb content and may affect blood sugars. These meatballs have only 1.3g of carbs because of a smart swap for the breadcrumbs."
Here's everything you need for this recipe, which makes four servings of four.
Leftovers can be stored for up to three days in an airtight container in the fridge, or they will keep in the freezer for up to two months. They can also be eaten cold, making them great for on the go.
