Michael K. Williams‘ cause of death has been confirmed after the heartbreaking news of his passing made headlines.

Michael Gandolfini has arrived. The 22-year-old son of James Gandolfini took on the role of his lifetime in The Many Saints of Newark, the upcoming feature film (and prequel to The Sopranos.) For Michael, playing a young version of Tony Soprano, the character his father made famous on the HBO series, was no easy task.

Beloved actor Michael Constantine sadly passed away last Tuesday, August 31, according to his agent who spoke with multiple outlets on Wednesday. He was 94 years old and died of natural causes.

Twitter, writing: “Acting with him came with a rush of love and fun. I will treasure this man who brought Gus to life.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding, has died aged 94.The actor passed away on Tuesday August 31 from natural causes, his agent confirmed to Variety.Constantine played Gus, the father of Toula Portokalos (Nia Vardalos), in both My Big Fat Greek Wedding and its 2016 sequel.Posting a tribute to her on-screen father on Twitter, Vardalos wrote: “Michael Constantine, the dad to our cast-family, a gift to the written word, and always a friend.

Michael Constantine was an actor best known for playing Toula’s father, Gus Portokalos, in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” and its sequel.Constantine’s acting career began in the 1950s, with early film roles in “The Last Mile” (1959) and “The Hustler” (1961) and appearances on TV shows including “The Lloyd Bridges Show,” “Bonanza,” “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” and “I Spy.” He costarred as the high school’s principal in “Room 222” from 1969 to 1974, winning a Primetime Emmy Award for his supporting role.

Reading Eagle that Constantine died peacefully of natural causes in his Reading home, surrounded by family. He had been ill for several years, but the family did not disclose the specifics of his illness.

Michael K. Williams was never shy about discussing his mental health and drug addiction prior to his death at age 54.  According to The New York Post, drug paraphernalia was found in the five-time Emmy nominee’s apartment, leading many to believe that he died of a drug overdose given his past comments about his own addiction struggles.
