Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy thought Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho looked 'more comfortable' and 'more productive' on the right-wing during Boxing Day's 3-2 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
The Argentine played a starring role in helping United recover from 2-0 down, netting a second half brace, ahead of Rasmus Hojlund plundering his first Premier League goal to scoop all three points with just under 10 minutes of normal time remaining. Both goals from Garnacho were as a result of him moving inside from the right flank.
Previously, Garnacho, for the most part, has been restricted to playing on the left, with Marcus Rashford farmed out to the opposite side of the pitch when they have both been playing at the same time. Rashford is far more effective and influential on the left, meaning Erik ten Hag's decision to often alter his position to accommodate Garnacho in the XI has been questioned.

However, Ten Hag decided to deploy Garnacho on the right against Villa and it was a decision that paid dividends, with the youngster plundering his very first United brace. And for Murphy, the 19-year-old looked right at home on the right-hand side.
"Collectively, the urgency and intensity was better," Murphy told BBC Sport. "Individually, I thought the quality and game intelligence was much better to overcome that Aston Villa high line.
"Especially from Garnacho. I thought he was outstanding. Playing on the right-hand side, where he'd been switched to bring Rashford in. He looked more comfortable, more productive.
