Former Chelsea and England defender Gary Cahill believes Manchester City's squad depth will allow them to cope with the demands of the title race and beat Arsenal to top spot.
City briefly closed the gap on Arsenal to five points yesterday by beating Liverpool 4-1, although the Gunners re-established an eight-point lead a couple of hours later by beating Leeds United by the same scoreline. Pep Guardiola's side have a game in hand on their rivals but the relentless form of both means it will likely go to the wire.
The pair meet in what looks set to be a mammoth clash at the end of April, and although Arsenal have the harder league fixtures, their absence from European competition has freed up their schedule. Nevertheless, Cahill believes City have the squad to cope and a manager in Pep Guardiola with vital experience.
RATINGS: Grealish and Alvarez outstanding in Liverpool win
"I would probably look at Man City," Cahill told Premier League productions when asked who he thinks will win the league. "You're looking at the tough games where you're hoping the other teams can drop points.
"Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea still to play for Arsenal. The big one of course is going to be the end of April, the 26th when they play each other, that's going to be a huge game.
"I don't see City going anywhere, the pressure is going to be on all the way until the end. Obviously they've got a fixture pile-up but I do [think they can cope] because look at the squad and the depth they have, they can change it.
"You've got a manager who is used to that pile up, he used to this amount of games, but the squad they've got is more than capable of dealing with that."
