Man charged with nine counts of rape after investigation into child sexual abuse

A man has been charged with dozens of sexual offences following a police investigation into child sexual abuse.
Detectives launched a probe after receiving concerns regarding the welfare of a child and possible sexual exploitation.
Carl Jones, 57, has now been charged with a total 40 sexual offences, including nine counts of rape of a child under 13, one count of attempted rape of a child under 13.

Jones, of Little Hulton, Salford, has also been charged with the following:
He will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday).
Detective Inspector Steven Hughes, from GMP's Child Protection Investigation Unit in Salford, said: “This has been a diligent investigation and whilst we have secured charges, our work is far from over. We will continue to work closely with our partner agencies to ensure victims and survivors receive the best possible care and support throughout.”
