Littler's rise to stardom has seemingly come out of nowhere, his journey capturing the imagination of the wider public and transcending the sport.
Nicknamed "The Nuke", Littler has become a national icon after sailing through round after round of the tournament. After earning his place in tonight's showpiece with victory over Rob Cross on Tuesday night, he became the youngest player to ever reach the final of the competition.
Known as a 'quiet' and 'down to earth lad,' Luke was brought up in Warrington by parents Antony, a taxi driver, and mum Lisa, a candle shop worker.
Born on January 21, 2007, his route to the top started early, with mum Lisa releasing a video of Luke at 18 months, giggling and throwing darts in nappies. Luke said: “And that’s where it started, 18 months in a nappy, on a magnetic board and then four or five I was on a proper board.”
Littler told BBC Breakfast hard work from a young age has been key to his success. He said: "From the age of 18 months I've just been non stop and then by the age of four I got onto the proper board. When we moved to Warrington when I was 8/9, we started going out to pubs 4/5 times a week and I was just non-stop."
