In light of Molly-Mae Hague receiving backlash for exercising after giving birth, her fellow Love Islanders have come to her defence. Last week, the 23 year old new mum shared a snap in her home gym as she embarked on her first work out since welcoming baby Bambi last month. Sharing a mirror selfie, Molly said she was “so excited” to get her fitness back after her pregnancy as she took to her stairmaster to work up a sweat.
She has since been criticised for going back to the gym just a few weeks after giving birth, as people called for the Love Island star to spend time with her child instead. Amber Gill, who starred on Love Island with the PrettyLittleThing creative director in 2019, was the first person to publicly defend Molly following the backlash as she retweeted a post that said the new mum should “step off your stair master and enjoy another cuddle with your new baby”. Amber, 25, wrote alongside it: “??? Delete this”.
Replying to her tweet, Olivia Attwood also weighed in. She wrote: “What the actual f**k?” next to two mind-blown emojis. Dad-of-two Dom Lever added: “Having kids can be intense as f**k , give the girl a break if she wants to stair master for a minute”.
Dozens of others have also echoed similar sentiments. Someone said: “I hate exercise but if it helps her it helps and from what I see she cuddles bambi all the time! You can’t cuddle your kids 24/7 if it’s the gym, a coffee with pals or just hiding in the bathroom for a bit.. we all need space".
