Love Island 's beloved baby challenge may have been scrapped this season, much to fans' dismay. This summer's edition of the phenomenally popular reality dating show has been rife with drama, twists and turns. With the final just around the corner, the remaining couples have their eyes on the prize.
Many viewers will have been anticipating seeing how the villa stars would fare during the infamous baby challenge, which sees each couple tasked with a doll they must care for as though it's the real deal. The “infants” cry and must be fed, burped, changed, and well looked after. But we won't see this year's finalists face the challenge, according to reports. The cancellation of the fan favourite has yet to be confirmed by ITV, but many viewers have still expressed their sadness at its potential loss. As with all Love Island developments, they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One fan said: “Hold on ..where’s the baby episode then…that’s my favourite and they usually do that while there’s 5 couples and before final dates ..im so confused”. Another unimpressed viewer said: “Just found out the baby challenge is not taking place this year… heartbroken”, while a third commented: “NO BABY CHALLENGE THIS SEASON AND NOBODY HAS SAID ANYTHING WTF?” And another wanted to see the back of Saturday night’s ‘unseen bits’ show in favour of the challenge: “Can we not have an unseen bits this Saturday? Give us the baby challenge.” OK! has contacted ITV for confirmation about the baby challenge. But some viewers were happy to see the back of the babies.
