Loose Women's Ruth Langsford flooded with concerned well-wishes as she's struck down while fans ask themselves 'why'

Ruth Langsford has been flooded with well-wishes from her concerned fans as she shared how she's been struck down. The Loose Women star has received support from her online following after sharing on social media that she is suffering from the "lurgy".
Ruth took to her Instagram page on Monday (August 28) with the health update as she made herself a homemade remedy to try and beat the illness she is suffering from. The 63-year-old shared a video as she combined a number of ingredients in a cafetiere, using the French press to create a smooth hot drink.
Alongside the post, Ruth wrote to her one million followers: "Got the Lurgy! So I’ve made myself a hot toddy and I’m going back to bed! Lemon, orange, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, honey and a big splosh of Irish whiskey."

She added: "Let’s hope this does the trick….if nothing else it should help me sleep!" Taking to Instagram Stories, Ruth also shared the video and added: "Hot toddy in the cafetière… genius or what?!"
And the former This Morning star's post was quickly flooded with messages wishing Ruth well again while also praising her trick. @sharon_jayne said: "Genius idea of using the cafetiere...get well soon." @gibbins544 commented: "What a good idea in the cafeteria why did I never think of that?
