It was one of three victims of convicted rapist Lawrence Jones. Today, December 1, he was jailed for 15 years after being found guilty of raping two women and sexually assaulting another.

Jones, 55, attacked two women in the 1990s while he was a piano player in pubs and hotels across the city, after 'stupefying' them with an unknown drug. Years later, while on a business trip, he prised apart the legs of another young woman and asked to see her underwear, before forcing himself on her.
As families of the three women looked on from the public gallery, they stood together in the witness box behind a screen and sobbed as they detailed the devastating impact his crimes have had on their lives.
First to give her statement was Woman A, who was drugged and raped by Jones. At trial, Manchester Crown Court heard that Jones, then in his 20s, called her a ‘pr*** tease’ before pouncing on her after he had given her a glass of red wine and what she thought was a spliff. He then told the woman: “So do I have to teach you a lesson (or) are you just gonna let me f*** you."
"In the [1990s] I was secure in my sense of self, confident, mostly happy, but above all else fierce and fearless," she began.
