Lauren Goodger opens up on TOWIE and why her early years with Mark Wright wouldn't happen now

After filming more than 60 dramatic episodes during her first stint on The Only Way is Essex, there’s not a lot Lauren Goodger hasn’t lived out on screen. From the very first episode in October 2010, viewers became hooked on her storylines following her traumatic breakup with childhood sweetheart Mark Wright. Almost 15 years later, Lauren, now 37, is preparing to make her big TOWIE comeback and she chatted exclusively to OK! about how she feels about her younger years spent on the hit reality show.
As well as revealing she doesn't regret anything, she also explained what's changed for the cast in terms of their mental wellbeing. “There is nothing I regret and nothing I would change,” she said. “Everything that happened – good and bad – was exactly what was meant to happen." She continued: "At that age you’re supposed to have the drama, relationships and the partying.
I tell my young niece and the young ones on TOWIE now, ‘Just go out, live your life.’ I’m grateful for everything I experienced on the show. It’s why I am who I am today.” TOWIE's first ever episode on 10 October, 2010, on ITV2 focussed on the messy aftermath of Lauren's split from Mark, who is now married to Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan. It also featured Kirk Norcoss and Sam Faiers - with the latter becoming a source of heartache for Lauren when she and Mark grew closer.
At the time, Lauren was in her early 20s and the cast spent many a night at famous Essex haunts Faces and Sugar Hut. But all that has changed now, and Lauren has spent the last few years focussing on her young daughter Larose, now two and a half.
