A late-night restaurant, bar and music venue on Oxford Road has suddenly closed its doors. Canvas, which was billed as a 'next-generation' dining and entertainment venue when it opened in July 2022, was known for its live music, food and drink and community events.
The venue located on Oxford Road was part of the Circle Square neighbourhood and was brought to life by the team behind two of London's most established music venues - Oval Space and Pickle Factory. It featured an underground club space for live gigs, a members' club and a late-night bar and restaurant.
A sign in the window of the Oxford Road site said the venue is now closed and to contact a business advisory firm based in Manchester for more details. The building is part of the Bruntwood SciTech portfolio.

As well as live gigs from both national and international acts, the venue hosted album launches and listening parties. And while members' clubs are still quite rare in Manchester, the venue launched a membership for £15 for under 30s with perks including free gigs and guest passes, access to the underground late-night bar and invitation-only parties.
Upstairs, the venue also boasted its own
