Meghan Markle has various different nicknames and titles, but it seems that she has one moniker that she was given by King Charles.
The monarch gave the former Suits actress the name when the Sussexes were still active members of the royal family. Meghan and Harry quit their duties in 2020 and relocated to California.
After Harry and Meghan got engaged back in 2017, Charles reportedly came up with a nickname for the now 42-year-old. At the time, Charles was the Prince of Wales and the nickname reportedly showed Meghan in a positive light, writes The Mirror.
The now King reportedly referred to Meghan as "Tungsten" according to royal journalist and author, Katie Nicholl. Katie penned The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown, which was released in 2022.
In her book, Katie wrote: "Charles reportedly nicknamed his future daughter-in-law 'Tungsten'. " Tungsten is a type of metal that is known for being extremely strong and hard to break.
It's unknown if Charles still calls Meghan by the name. The couple have had a strained relationship with the royal family as they slammed how they were treated by the Firm in various interviews, their documentary series, and Harry's memoir.
But Harry seems to be trying to repair his relationship with his father after Charles' cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
Harry jetted to the UK after learning the news of his father's illness earlier this month.
It's been reported that Harry wants to bring his children, Archie, four, and Lilbet, two, on his next trip with him to visit the King. A source claimed that Meghan was "uncomfortable" and "apprehensive" about the possibility of visiting the UK again.
