King Charles could be signalling an end to the Royal Family feud, with one expert suggesting he has "kept the door open" to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made numerous explosive claims against The Firm since their departure as senior royals in 2020, leading to a bitter family rift.
However, Harry has recently started to mend his relationship with his father. After Charles was diagnosed with cancer, his youngest son flew out to visit him and is set to return to London again on May 8.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes Charles is open to reuniting with his son but cautioned there is a catch. "The King has always kept the door open to Harry, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he would invariably get a warm reception. It will take its time.
"But clearly the situation has changed in recent weeks beyond all expectations. I don't think it would be too difficult, it depends how you define reconcile," Richard told The Sun.
The royal expert has expressed that Prince Harry is likely as eager to meet with his father as King Charles is to see him. He remarked: "We know security regarding Harry and Meghan and the children would be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, I would find it extraordinary if they wanted to see the King that there would be a problem."
Meghan Markle, as reports the Mirror, has made few trips back to Britain following her step back from royal duties. She was present for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations but has not been seen in the UK since attending the Queen's funeral in September 2022.
