A murderer who killed the son of a former Manchester United star has died in a Lancashire prison.
Simon Fell was jailed for life in March 1996 for the murder of 26-year-old Grant Noble outside the Station pub in Sale, Trafford, two years earlier.
Mr Noble, a dad-of-two, was the son of former Manchester United player Bobby Noble.
Bobby, a full-back, played a large role in the Red Devils' title winning team of 1966/67 - before a car crash in Sale left him with head, chest, and leg injuries which ultimately led to the end of his playing career. He passed away in August 2023.

On the morning of January 29 this year prison officers were unlocking the cells when Fell was discovered, wedged between his bed and bedside table. Paramedics were called but the 60-year-old was pronounced dead at 9.16am.
