Kelsey Parker has opened up about grief and remembering husband Tom Parker ahead of the second anniversary of his death later this month. Tom, who became famous for being a member of boy band The Wanted, died on 30 March 2022 at the age of 33 - just two years after being with an inoperable brain tumour. He and Kelsey got engaged in 2016 and tied the knot two years later before welcoming two children, Aurelia, now four and Bodhi, now three, into the world.
Since then, 33 year old Kelsey has bravely spoken about the realities of grieving and speaking at the Together For Short Lives ball on Monday, 4 March, the mum-of-two spoke about the upcoming anniversary. “You know what, really good. Like, actually, probably the best I've been in some time.
So yeah, everything seems a lot clearer for me,” she said when asked how things were going. “Grief's a funny thing, isn't it? Living grief and going through it. Maybe this is part of the grief process, that everything's lifting and just looking a little bit clearer for me.” Kelsey added that she lives every day as it comes, but that March is a marker for what she has experienced.
“For me, I am the preacher of you've got to live for each day and take each day as it comes. But I think when I hit March I'm like, ‘oh my god’ and I can't believe that it's actually been two years since I lost Tom,” she explained. “You know, the end of this month will be two years and within the time frame people go, ‘Oh, how does that feel for you?’ But for me it feels ages since I've last seen him, but then only yesterday that it happened.” As a single mum to daughter Aurelia and son Bodhi, Kelsey also opened up about ensuring that her children remember their dad, though stated that the reality of their
