Death in Paradise favourite Ralf Little has broken his silence following his character's exit from the hit series. Viewers were left devastated when DI Neville Parker departed the island of Saint Marie in the 13th series' finale. DI Neville decided he needed to go travelling and explore the world, prompting him to bid farewell to the Caribbean island in emotional scenes on Sunday, 24 March.
Neville got his happy ending too, as he eventually reunited with love interest Florence and they jetted off together. Actor Ralf, 44, has now broken his silence about his exit. A video of him addressing fans was shared on the BBC's Death in Paradise Instagram account.
Ralf said: "So, there you have it! The secret's out! My time on Saint Marie has come to an end. But, what an end! New adventures await Neville and he got to sail off into the sunset with his best friend, and, you know, who knows what happens for them next! "I just want to say, just an enormous thank you to everyone who watched and supported the show. When I arrived, four-and-a-half years ago, I knew I had big shoes to fill.
Coming into a series beloved by millions, including me, was a huge responsibility. I had no idea if viewers would take to my interpretation of Neville's character and indeed to me, so it was quite a relief the response has been overwhelming." He went on to brand it a "privilege" and "pleasure" to appear on the BBC show. Ralf also thanked fans for their support over the past few years.
