Kate Ferdinand has revealed her son Cree was rushed into surgery after he suffered a 'freak accident'. The former TOWIE star, 31, who is currently expecting her second child - a girl - with husband Rio, 44, shared an update to her Instagram Story on Friday. Kate said she was 'a complete emotional wreck' after the toddler, two, broke a bone in his finger and needed surgery to fix the injury.
Sharing a photo of Cree's bandaged hand from the hospital, she apologised to her fans for the 'radio silence' and explained what had happened. 'Sorry for the radio silence, my poor baby had a freak accident on Tuesday & ended up breaking a bone in his finger and then need nail bed surgery,' she wrote. Kate continued: 'I'm a complete emotional wreck mumma right now.
'The TV personality is stepmother to Rio's three children Lorenz, 15, Tate, 13, and Tia, 11 - whose mother Rebecca sadly died after a battle with cancer in 2015 - and the couple have Cree together. This week, Kate revealed she still bears the emotional scars of her baby loss after suffering a devastating miscarriage last year. The former TOWIE star opened up on the latest episode of her Blended podcast, admitting that although she is currently feeling good, she had a rocky first trimester due to constant anxiety about being pregnant again.
The reality TV personality explained while she still finds 'every scan terrifying' due to her past experiences, pregnancy loss has changed her 'outlook on life for the better'. Kate and footballer husband Rio lost a baby last summer after discovering there was no heartbeat during a 12-week scan. Kate said: 'I'm pregnant, I'm so happy about it.
