Kate Ferdinand told her followers she's been "radio silent" on Instagram because her son Cree needed emergency surgery after a "freak accident". The former TOWIE star, who is married to retired footballer Rio Ferdinand, shared a snap of her little boy in hospital, as he lay under blankets with a bandage and cast on his forefinger. The two year old youngster was wearing a cartoon print hospital gown and had an array of animal stickers on his bandage to cheer him up.
"Sorry for the radio silence," Kate began in her story. "My poor baby had a freak accident on Tuesday & ended up breaking a bone in his finger and then needed nail bed surgery. "I'm a complete emotional wreck mumma right now," the star said.
She then added: "Look at his little hand," alongside crying and sad emojis. Kate is mum to Cree, with Rio, 44, and is expecting her second child with the football pundit. The former reality star is also step-mum to Rio's three eldest children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11.
It comes as Kate spoke earlier this week about having a "very testing" weekend with her son last weekend. The pregnant star admitted he'd been suffering with tantrums and she'd struggled over the course of two days to cope. Kate had taken Cree and her two youngest step-children on a family day out on Saturday, but it was difficult to navigate.
"Hold mummy's hand please. 'NO!' and walks crossed armed everywhere," Kate wrote, explaining what her little boy had been doing all day. "This boy is the cutest, funniest boy but the tantrums we've had this weekend have been very testing I'm glad it's bed time! Lool," the star admitted.
