Jurors have retired to consider their verdicts in the trial of three men accused of murdering a teenager. Callum Riley, 17, was pronounced dead after being stabbed during an incident in Heywood.
Three men are on trial accused of murder. Tony Adams, 34, Dale Heywood, 26, and a 17-year-old boy all deny the charge. Mr Riley was knifed to the leg in the doorway of Mr Adams’ home on Atholl Drive in the town, at 5am on September 17, 2022, Manchester Crown Court has heard.
Prosecutors claim that he was ‘probably’ stabbed by Mr Heywood. Mr Riley and a friend had both turned up at Mr Adams’ home ‘intent on taking revenge’, prosecutors said at the trial.

During a confrontation in the doorway of the home, in which bottles of beer were thrown, Mr Riley and his associate were both stabbed, jurors heard. His friend was not seriously hurt, but Mr Riley suffered a fatal wound to his leg.
Mr Heywood said that he had been hit on the head with a bottle, and after coming round he was told he had stabbed someone. During the trial he denied using a knife.
Mr Adams said he picked up a baseball bat when the two men arrived at his home, and said he had been acting in self
