A new BBC documentary exploring the social media frenzy around the Idaho murders where four university students lost their lives has been released. Documentary maker Zara McDermott will focus on the social media storm that followed the harrowing and tragic deaths of the students.
In November 2022, the small American town of Moscow was shaken to its core after four students were killed. Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Madison Mogen, had been stabbed to death in a town mostly populated by students.

"Millions of people logged on and tried to solve the crime - and I was hooked," says Zara McDermott in her opening lines to the documentary entitled The Idaho Murders: Trial by TikTok.
