Former TOWIE favourite Joey Essex has dubbed the ITVBe series "drama-less", believing that if he was ever to return that he's "sure" he'd bring in a wave of excited viewers. Catching up with OK! this week to discuss the latest instalment of the docu-reality show, the widely-adored 32-year-old television personality insisted: "It's just not the show that it was when I first started, I don't even recognise it anymore. "It's just a bit drama-less, there's not enough going on.
"I'm sure that if I ever did go back to the show that I would bring back a lot of entertainment - and probably a lot more viewers if I'm honest." Joey first took to our screens back in 2011 where he appeared on the show's second series as a supporting cast member for his cousin and fellow TOWIE favourite Chloe Sims. He was then quickly promoted to a main cast member for the third series. His charm meant that he remained a firm-favourite, with the show launching him further into the spotlight, allowing him to take part in the likes of I'm A Celebrity...
Get Me Out of Here!, Splash! and The Jump. The years that followed sadly saw Joey depart from the TOWIE, ultimately calling it quits in 2013 before later appearing on Celebs Go Dating, Ex On The Beach and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. But the question on everybody's lips remains - would Joey ever be tempted to return to The Only Way Is Essex? "When I get asked that, I do normally say 'That ship has probably sailed' and stuff," Joey exclusively revealed. "But now, no, never." He continued: "The show is just so far gone from when I was on it - there wouldn't be a place for me anymore.
