"It's so grim and unspeakable, people don't know what to say. They don't know how to act around you," said Clara. She added: "I feel so sad I'll never see her grow up.
"Maude had had what was thought to be a chest infection late in 2010. She had been discharged from A&E with steroids and antibiotics. But on New Year's Eve Jason remembered how Maude had seemed "floppy and pale", so they drove her back to A&E.
They were told it would be croup, and Maude was sent home again. "Not a single day goes by when we don't think about Maude," Jason said. Maude has a bench the family visit and Jason and Clara have tattoos of her name.
It wasn't until later that Jason and Clara found out that Maude had died from sepsis. Sepsis is when the body overreacts to an infection and starts to damage the organs and tissues. Since then, Jason and Clara have been keen to raise awareness of the symptoms of sepsis to help other parents potentially spot it.
Sepsis kills around 52,000 people in the UK every year. Jason said they want sepsis training to be available more widely as he visited an NHS trust who offered it in the documentary. Viewers praised the family for sharing their story and raising awareness of sepsis as they shared their own experiences with the condition.
