Jason Statham is a bona fide action hero, and with that status comes certain responsibilities. First, you have to have the constitution of a top athlete and second you have to do your own stunts. Being a former elite-level diver, Statham definitely has the former, but now, in an interview with Collider, The Expendables and Fast and Furious star has revealed how he has also done his own stunts over the years – sometimes at great risk to his health.
‘I did a little jump in the Transporter 2,’ Statham explained. ‘I jumped from the back of a jet ski onto the back of a bus. It wasn't a very safe stunt.
I shouldn't have done it, there was no safety wire, but I just did that. I mean, if I'd have missed the back of the bus, it would have been a faceplant at 30 mph into the concrete. ’In the same interview, Statham shared how he's torn a bicep and really screwed his neck up doing stunts, which in hindsight he probably should have used a green screen for.
He also explained that his experience of making action movies is nothing new. His co-star in The Expendables, and one of the greatest action heroes of all time, Sylvester Stallone, also has a catalogue of battle scars from years of beating himself up for our viewing pleasure. ‘He's got a roadmap of injuries over the course of his career,’ said Statham.
‘A lot of the things we do, it's because our ego gets in front of us, and we want it to be authentic. We want people to see that that's us doing it. We want the audience to go for the ride.

Sylvester Stallone was swiftly silenced by Michael Caine on setStallone said: "At 6 feet 7 and 295 pounds with 24-inch biceps! He was an amazing athlete! Incredibly powerful. I remember a violent move where he threw me into the corner, charged across the ring like an ENRAGED bull and leaped so amazingly high above me that his shin-bone actually came down (like a) giant tree on my collarbone, and I tumbled to the floor. "I was afraid to look at my shoulder for about 10 minutes.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Sylvester Stallone has crowned Arnold Schwarzenegger the “superior” action star, less than a year after openly admitting the two actors loathed each other throughout the 1980s as Hollywood pit their acting careers against one another. In Schwarzenegger’s recently released Netflix documentary “Arnold,” Stallone says there’s no question that Schwarzenegger was the more ideal action hero. “The ’80s was a very interesting time because the definitive ‘action guy’ had not really been formed yet,” Stallone said (via IndieWire). “Up until that time, action was a car chase like ‘Bullitt’ or ‘The French Connection.’ A film all about intellect and innuendo and verbal this and verbal that.”

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Jason Isbell has a new album out, “Weathervanes,” and he says, “I’m happy to be talking about it. You know, I’ve been talking about a lot of other stuff lately, and it’s nice to actually discuss the job that I chose for myself.” Nothing against the Other Stuff on his part, mind you. He’s proud of the much-heralded HBO Max documentary that director Sam Jones made about him, “Jason Isbell: Running With Our Eyes Closed,” even if it did open him and his wife, Amanda Shires, up to a huge amount amount of personal scrutiny. And he’ll sure be spending an even bigger part of the year than he is now talking about his dramatic role in Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which he now feels confident did not leave him in the position of “be(ing) the one guy that screws up this $200 million movie.”
