Jane McDonald is said to be the "top choice" to replace Phillip Schofield on Dancing On Ice, after "blowing ITV bosses away" during her recent hosting gig at the British Soap Awards. The 60 year old former Loose Women star presented the awards after its previous host, Phillip Schofield, resigned from ITV after admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague whilst he presented This Morning. British Soap Awards host Jane said it was her “dream job” after taking up the role at short notice to replace Phillip.
Welcoming stars to the awards at The Lowry theatre in Salford Quays, Jane said: “I’ve got to say I am a massive fan of the soaps so this is my dream job. “Welcome to you all, thank you for having me.” Referencing their location, close to the set of Coronation Street, McDonald told the audience of actors: “We’re here in Salford’s stunning
