ITV This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary's awkward response guest confronts them with 'new host'

This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary had an awkward moment when a guest mentioned the show's reported new presenter while live on air. The presenters were fronting the ITV daytime show at the time as they continued to take on the full-time main host gig.
It has previously been reported that Good Morning Britain's star Ben Shephard, 49, and Cat Deeley will be the new faces of This Morning, replacing Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield following their dramatic exits within months of each other last year.
During Wednesday's episode (February 14), they were chatting with Edward Oldfield, known as Britain's unluckiest game show contestant. Edward brought up Ben, who also hosts Tipping Point, and even showed a framed picture of him while sitting on This Morning's famous sofa.

He said: "I tell you what as well, because there may be a new presenter on the way and I've met Ben a number of times. So I'm going to leave that there for him, is that ok? A little mention to Ben!"
Alison and Dermot didn't say much in response, with Dermot simply saying: "Thanks for that!" They all shared an awkward laugh, and Edward added: "I'll get one of you two done, now that I've met you, don't worry!"
