Coronation Street's Mikey North made a cheeky joke about Manchester while appearing on This Morning on Friday (September 23). Alongside co-star Millie Gibson, the Gary Windass actor appeared on the popular ITV programme to discuss the latest twists and turns on the cobbles.
The pair joined hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on the sofa ahead of the soap's dramatic climax tonight. Mikey was explaining to Dermot whereabouts in the storyline the soap was up to at the moment when he made the off-the-cuff remark.
He said that on Wednesday, Kelly Neelan, played by Millie Gibson, tried to have Gary killed and that Gary 'dug his own grave and escaped.' Meanwhile, Kelly had been bundled into the back of a van.

Dermot then added: "The hitman's now going, hang on a minute I can make a bit more money, you know..." Mikey joked: "That's Manchester for you," which sent Millie, Alison and Dermot off giggling.
On Wednesday's episode, after giving a heartfelt speech at her and Aadi Alahan's engagement party, Kelly told Gary she knew he had killed her dad. She then legged it out of the Bistro, luring him in Kieron's path.
And before viewers knew it, Gary was knocked out, bundled into the back of a van and taken to the woods where he was forced to dig his own grave. But Kelly later had a change of heart and tried to get Kieron to stop.
But after she told him the hotel she was at, he arrived and kidnapped her again. Meanwhile, Gary had just got to the hotel to warn her after he managed to escape his captor's crutches by hitting and killing him with a shovel.
