Shameless star Tina Malone announced the heartbreaking news on Wednesday, 13 March that her beloved husband of 14 years, Paul Chase had sadly passed away.
The actress, 61, who is also known for her role on Brookside and taking part in series six of Celebrity Big Brother said she is "totally devastated" by Paul's passing. The cause of Paul's death, who was 42 years old, has not yet been confirmed.
Sharing the news on social media, Tina wrote: "It’s with total heartbreak I write this my husband Paul Chase Malone passed away this morning we are totally devastated." The pair were married for 14 years but it wasn't always easy for the couple who encountered a brief split and even got a divorce.
Tina was also arrested and they found themselves on the brink of bankruptcy at one stage. Tina and Paul tied the knot in 2010, but in 2017 their relationship took a difficult turn when Tina revealed she was left feeling suicidal after she was arrested and cautioned for possession of cocaine following her performance in pantomime's Sleeping Beauty.
Meanwhile, Paul, who was 19 years Tina's junior, lost his job looking after troubled teenagers and the couple found themselves on the edge of bankruptcy. In 2018, Tina then found herself in trouble after breaching an injunction that protected the identity of Jamie Bulger's killer, having shared a post on Facebook.
She avoided jail after admitting to the breach. After two difficult years, Tina said her mental health improved when she secured a role on Channel 5's Clink.
But her husband Paul reportedly struggled to find a job and started drinking. Despite trying to make it work, after 11 years together and a nine-year marriage, they announced their separation in 2019.
