Stacey Dooley is always popping up on our TV screens, and she's back tonight (Sunday, 17 March) for series two of Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA.
The series sees the presenter and journalist, 37, meet extraordinary people as she stays in their homes to lift the lid on their unconventional lifestyles. The TV star first shot to fame for her documentaries on important issues for the BBC, reports Birmingham Live. Back in 2008, Stacey fronted a documentary called 'Blood, Sweat and T-shirts' where she and others went to India to see how clothes are made.
Ten years later in 2018, her following grew even further when she took part in Strictly Come Dancing.
She went on to win the show and fell in love with her dance partner Kevin Clifton - the pair have since welcomed their daughter Minnie. But away from TV fame, there's more to know about Stacey, including her difficult childhood. Difficult childhood When Stacey was little, she had a hard time because her dad left when she was just two. In her book, she wrote about how tricky it was with her dad: "My father had his demons; our relationship was difficult and fractured. "But I don't ever think: 'poor me', I just feel blessed that I had my mother.
She was such a great mum." Stacey's mum Diane Niblock previously said that her ex had tried to come back into Stacey's life 'in a more meaningful way' when she was 13 but it was 'too late for them to reconcile'. Stacey's father passed away during her early twenties. The presenter has also spoken about growing up in poverty.
