Now that we’re one month into the latest series of Dancing On Ice, the stakes are getting higher each week as the remaining celebrities battle it out for a chance to win the iconic trophy. In fact, so far this series, there’s been everything from horror falls to shock double eliminations and one person who knows more about the show than most is former contestant Claire Sweeney. Having taken part in this year’s series, the Coronation Street star was the third star to be eliminated from the show after going head-to-head with stand-up comedian Lou Sanders in the skate off.
Despite being sent home, the 52 year old called taking part “the most wonderful experience of my life” and has now joined professional skater Matt Evers on his podcast, Ice Breakers alongside Frankie Seaman to give more insight. In a preview of the latest episode shared exclusively with OK!, we discovered how Claire was left “empowered” after taking part in the show, and how the menopause had been affecting her on the ice. As part of the podcast, Frankie opened up about her own difficulties of maintaining muscle tone while being menopausal and asked Claire how she found getting on the ice - prompting the star to reveal an unusual side effect of the menopause.
“It's a very physical job. And I just find it very difficult to maintain my muscle tone. So how did you find that getting on the ice? Because we know that ice skating is not like dance.
It's actually a lot harder,” Frankie asked. In response, Claire shared a story of how she’d been left “crashing and banging” into things. “Well, I walked from the canteen, you know the lovely canteen, they have the food.
