ITV have confirmed Nigel Farage had no chance of winning after he placed third in the 2023 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Once the former politician and GB News host was booted off the show, Tony Bellew took second place and Sam Thompson was crowned the winner. It's now been revealed Sam was the clear frontrunner in the final as before Nigel was kicked out of camp, he had just 25.78% of the public vote.
Tony had a 30.87% share of the vote but Sam led with 43.35% of the votes. When it came down to the final two, Sam was miles ahead with 56.64% of the vote while Tony had a 43.36% of the vote. Speaking after he won, Sam admited: "I didn't think I was even going to be invited onto this show, let alone be sat here [on the winner's throne].
"I am so grateful, thank you so much. I've dreamed of doing this show and being invited on for years and years, and you've just made a boy's dream come true." Just hours after being crowned the winner, Sam appeared on ITV's Lorraine and was surprised with a special message from girlfriend Zara McDermott. In a video, Zara said: "I don't think that the word 'proud' even cuts it anymore, because the way you carried yourself in that jungle, the way you made everyone feel so comfortable...You brought such a sparkle to that camp.
"I've never met anyone like you before. You are so beautifully unique and you are incredible, and I love you literally so much. "I cannot wait to have you back right here," she concluded patting her side of their bed.
