Holly Willoughby and her husband Dan Baldwin are reportedly facing a challenging time due to their upcoming separation as she departs the UK to film an exciting new TV series on Netflix.
A source has revealed that although Holly is keen to take a break from the "rollercoaster ride" of the past year, this new venture comes with a personal sacrifice.
The 43-year-old TV star is set to travel to Central America to join forces with survival expert Bear Grylls for a new Netflix project. This opportunity is anticipated to boost her presenting career after a tough year, but it also means significant time away from her "rock", TV producer husband Dan, and their three children.
"She's going to miss Dan and the family so was a bit torn about going back but she needs to get her career back on track and has to do this," an insider told OK! Magazine. "They're a really strong couple and they can do distance. She got quite a knock after all the trolling last year and she wants to put it all behind her, this is a great new start."
Holly's career became difficult in May last year, when she became embroiled in the controversy surrounding her co-host Phillip Schofield's "unwise but not illegal" affair, which led to both the stars departure from their shared presenting gig of 14 years.
Following her own exit, Holly reduced her work commitments to spend more time with Dan and their kids - Harry, 14, Belle, 12, and Chester, eight.
The couple tied the knot back in 2007 at Amberley Castle in Sussex, a ceremony attended by celebrity friends like Sara Cox and Dermot O'Leary, who served as an usher.
Even though they have been together for quite some time, they are not often seen publicly and Dan rarely appears on Holly's social media platforms.
