The loved ones of a well-known Salford dad who died suddenly have spoken of their “utter disbelief”.
Stevan Pugh, fondly known as ‘Pughy’, was discovered at his home in Eccles on March 13. Alarm bells were raised after no one was able to contact the 43-year-old for several days.
His sister Kate visited his flat where she found him unresponsive and called 999. Tragically, despite the best efforts of paramedics, Stevan was pronounced dead at the scene. He leaves behind two devastated sons Charlie, 11 and Harry, six.

His best friend Aaron Raynor, 41, has described the moment he found out Stevan had passed away.
“It broke my heart,” the dad-of-two, who works as a site manager for the NHS, told the Manchester Evening News.
“He told me I was like a dad to him and he looked up to me even though he was older than me. We both came from the same background as kids. We had a bond when we grew up. I’ve known him for 30 years.
“I keep myself busy. If I sit down and start thinking, that’s when it goes wrong. It destroyed me; I was at my lowest point – but I have to keep going and be strong for the people around me.”
An avid Manchester United fan, Stevan loved playing sports and had a keen interest in football, rugby and mixed martial arts - often training up to five days a week. He also liked being out in nature and going on walks with his family to waterfalls and local parks.
The dad once worked as a car salesman until he began suffering from poor mental health.
Aaron, who also grew up in Eccles but now lives in Rawtenstall, described the dad as a “friendly and loyal” person who would “give you the last pound out of his pocket.”
